Battlefield 2 is nowhere near as good as Battlefield 3 but it's a start.

I bought Battlefield bad company 2 off of steam, since i got it i have been able to play for 3-5 minutes before being disconnected. I opened the ports on my firewall, put the computer in DMZ, completely turned off my firewall. The lest level is level 50 but i think you can reset to go back to 1 because if you look at the top of the leaderboards on PS3 a guy named digard was level 50 one day then i re checked and he was like level 9.

How do I beat the level where you have to defuse 3 bombs on battlefield 2 modern combat?

You didn't say exactly if you had everything.

I don't own BF2 but I believe I might be able to help you. Before you do any of the changes I'm about to give you I strongly recommend you back up any file.
Go to your BF2 install directory (It's probably something like C:/Program Files/EA Games/Battlefield2/) and once in there find the "Movies" folder.
In this folder you should find the following three files:
-EA.bik
-dice.bik
-nvidia_logo.bik
Copy %26amp; paste these files and change their name to include "_backup" (just so you don't lose these). Once this is done create three new text files (Right Click %26gt; New %26gt; Text Document) and rename them exactly like the old files. So now your folder should contain the following files:
-EA.bik (one of the text documents)

I changed the direct x settings of battlefield 2 to 9, but whenver the game starts in multiplayer or singler player it exits out of the game. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is a VERY good game. Awesome multiplayer, HUGE maps, great campaign, SUPERB graphics. Also the complete building destruction adds a layer of realism that no other game has. Many unlockable weapons as you rank up in each class. That is another thing I like. You can't camp as a sniper and get a ton of kills and unlock a LMG by doing it. You have to earn points in each class separately(Assault, engineer, medic, recon) to get the corresponding weapons. I highly reccomend this game to any FPS lover.

Why does Battlefield 2 keep crashing and going to the desktop?
I just today got Battlefield 2 for my PC, after i installed it. I was prompted to create an account, but everytime I create on it just closes the programme and takes me to the desktop, no error message or anything of that nature. I don't have any idea how to fix it, I have already reinstalled it twice and still nothing. My specs are way above the recommended specs. There isnt anything wrong with ur computer. Its something wrong with the most recent patch EA released the 1.3 patch. A lot of people are having this problem. Do not fear they said a fix should be released in early/middle July.

I haven't played Lost Planet 2 so I can't help with that one. I play Bad Company 2 quite regularly, though. The single player campaign is good and a decent length, though not huge. The online multiplayer is competitive but not as frustrating as some games, and the size of the maps/teams allows for some thought and strategy, as well as giving you the chance to vary how you play. If you find yourself with a talkative squad (as I did only a couple of days ago), it's enormous fun. Even without that, I consider it very good.
Graphically, the environments are detailed and largely quite impressive, though the desert ones less so. The character models are fine, but not as well animated as in some games. The sound, which is something I don't usually notice, is outstanding. At one point in the campaign I fired a shot from a sniper rifle into a kind of canyon area, and the sound echoed quite impressively.

I have installed Battlefield 2 on my computer, and it is working fine. However, I have just downloaded sever custom maps, and though installed correctly, I just can't play them on single player. As soon as I click 'Join Game', the game just closes down. Many other people have had the same problem as me, but they have solved it by changing the graphics settings to high or medium. Once you play a single game of it, you will never, ever want to play Modern Warfare 2 again. The only way you would want to play again is if you lack the skill to play Bad Company 2.
The bullets actually take time to travel. Everything (Including rockets and bullets) drop with gravity. The maps are huge. The grenade launchers don't kill everyone within 50 feet. It is mainly used for destroying buildings and objectives. You can't knife from 15+ feet. You have to be right next to the enemy, so it actually takes skill. Only one weapon is overpowered. You actually feel like you're in a war because the objectives move along the map as they are destroyed.
Trust me I have both games and the DLC map packs for mw2, I like both games equally and would recommend you getting BFBC2 as it is a GREAT game and will give you way more enjoyment, and play time then just getting mw2 map packs. Dont' get me wrong the map packs are good but only about half of the maps are worth buying and they are all in different map packs and most of them are from Cod:4 (lol) And it isnt like you are missing out on much, you can get those at a different time as they are a lot cheaper. I think it's better to uninstall the cracked version and do a clean install from the disc. That way you would be able to download the latest patch and you never know what stuffs arent supposed to be in the illegal version. Better to be safe than sorry right? K so in the battlefield bad company 2 beta, I can't gain any levels to get more equipment. At the end of each game, I just see the points I earned but it says I got 0 kills/death and 0 everything else and I don't get any points. Battlefield 2 Modern combat (released Oct 2005) is the console version of Battlefield 2 for the PC (released June 2005). Modern Combat was also re-released for the xbox 360 in April 2006.
The games are similar but Battlefield 2 for the PC was superior, better graphics, better player controls, a ranking system and unlockable weapons, there was also an expansion pack released Nov 2005 and two (now free) booster packs released in 2006 for the PC and free public custom made maps and mods available online (filefront).
Vehicles wise, both have a large range of vehicles, but the PC version has jets which the console version does not and also jet skis in the expansion pack.
The only thing Modern Combat had over BF2 is a campaign story mode and two multiplayer game modes, conquest and capture the flag. BF2 only has variations of conquest online and the same mode against bots as a singleplayer game.
Ok I never played Modern Combat on the console, but it's pretty dead now whereas BF2 still has thousands of players online every day!

I play modern wrarfare 2 alot and im going to get battlefield bad company 2 in about a month(hopefully) and I heard that the controls are different, could you tell me what you use to shoot. aim, crouch, throw grenades ECT. For shooting, ads (aim down sight). sprinting, reloading, and switching weapons is the same as any other shooter.
The only difference is the d-pads are for switching between your gadgets, LB for grenades, clicking the right thumb stick makes you crouch (unless you played with the tactic layout on MW2) and RB is for knifing,
You can set the controls up to where is works like the first one. (unless you haven't played the first one)
After that, don't worry about it. :D

How can I start my Battlefield 2 demo for PC?
I finished downloading the demo version of Battlefield 2 and when I try to start up the program the screen turns black for 1-2 seconds and then it shows my desktop wallpaper and nothing happens. This used to happen to me alot. The reasons I can figure for it happening are as follows:
1) Sometimes the folder you are sending it to is bugged or has cross-referenced resources and is glitched so the game won't work right because the resources are incorrectly allocated to run the game
2) Your cache or temporary or stored files is too large meaning that you need to delete some unnecessary files to free up space for the game
3) Your RAM and/or graphics card are not sufficient to run the game
4) The most common reason I had for my game not working is that I deleted some files not realizing what they did or how they were linked to other files and it ended up turning off some of the graphics drivers that run my game. Since your screen is going black I assume that the game is attempting to run but the graphics card won't process the information correctly. A long time ago, I installed Battlefield 2 on my computer and it worked fine. I had to reformat my computer. Since I knew that it worked, I reinstalled it. I installed the latest patch, 1.41 directly from the official Battlefield 2 website. Now, when I start the game it leads me to a black screen, but it doesn't quit back to the desktop, I have to auto end the process. Maybe you need to update some drivers like video, audio etc

They're pretty similar actually. As you rank up in Battlefield 2, you are able to unlock one new weapon for each class of your choosing per rank. The system is a lot less complex then 2142 as you are only able to unlock primary weapons while in 2142 you are able to unlock new primary weapons, grenades, weapon attachments, player abilities, and so forth. You can only chose from one class specific weapon (primary) at a time which you can also use in the expansion/booster packs but you do not get to choose your kit as you can in 2142. It is a good game and very solid at that, however if you are coming from 2142 to 2 you might find the gameplay doesnt seem as fluid and it is harder to aim, move and parachute (default key is 9 i believe, easily fixed but annoying). As far as I know 2142 and COD4 are the most customizable games out right now, maybe crysis but ive never played online.

I have a limited data plan on my DSL internet service, and i wouldn't like to exceed the limit.
